Branchial Vestige (Ear Tags)

Branchial vestiges, or ear tags, are remnants of the rudimentary ears as they are forming in vivo. Often prominent skin tag is seen with a small piece of cartilage at the base. Tags alone are not indicative of any genetic problem or syndrome. Branchial vestiges can be safely removed in the office under local anesthesia. Fine suturing is used to achieve thin scars that can often be hidden in the shadows of the face.

Dr. Bastidas performs the removal of branchial vestiges, not a genetic deformity, in his office under local anesthesia.    Dr. Bastidas performs the removal of branchial vestiges, not a genetic deformity, in his office under local anesthesia.
